Woodford Halse Run in the Sun!

Our amazing cross country team of 42 runners did themselves incredibly proud on a warm spring day at the annual Woodford Halse Cross Country event.

More than 30 schools from the district descended on the little village in the middle of nowhere, with the best part of 1000 runners competing in 8 different races ranging from Y3 up to Y6 events. We even had celebrity visitors with England rugby captain Courtney Lawes making an appearance to cheer on his children!

The course is a tough one, 1300 metres but with a fair few hills and tricky obstacles to navigate, and of course competition was high, with some very talented runners on show from across the local area.

As always, the children gave it their all, giving their very best in tough conditions – not for the spectators though! 😎
