Hickstead Glory for Alice!

An incredible weekend for our equestrian team of one at the Schools National Championships, with literally the country’s very best riders and their horses on display. It was heavily representated by large equestrian teams from private secondary schools. However our very own Y6 pupil, Alice, (who was riding her Pony, Tom) literally gave her all sporting the NHPS colours…. and years of hard work saw them holding their own amongst the best of the best.

The classes were enormous with 200 competitors in each one. Alice had to learn and remember 43 jump combinations over 3 classes all in one day – which she did to perfection.
Alice and Tom gave each class 100%, coming in an individual 14th in the 75cm showjumping and 62nd in the incredibly technical 85cm Eventer Challenge. The competition was the best the country had to offer and competing at Hickstead’s All England Showjumping Course was a dream achieved for Alice!
