Welcome to Year 5 at NHPS

Year 5 is a pivotal and exciting stage of your child's educational journey. This year promises a wealth of opportunities for personal and academic growth as they transition from Lower Key Stage 2. Preparation is key, and we ensure they are well-prepared throughout the year, ready for the challenges that await them.

In Year 5, our pupils are encouraged to take on increased responsibilities and build greater independence in their learning and daily activities. They will immerse themselves in a comprehensive and engaging curriculum designed to expand their understanding and skills across a range of subjects, with a strong emphasis on advancing their proficiency in English and Maths.

Throughout the year, students will enhance their critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities, improve their communication skills, and boost their confidence with a focus on greater independence throughout. Additionally, they will have the opportunity to join numerous extracurricular clubs, participate in inspiring educational trips (including an exciting coastal residential), and take on roles that promote leadership and teamwork, all contributing to a holistic educational experience.

While academic excellence is a significant focus, we also prioritize the emotional and social development of our pupils. Our dedicated teaching staff are committed to supporting each child in achieving their personal best, ensuring they are well-prepared for the demands and opportunities of Year 6 and beyond.
