District Tag Rugby Finals

On Wednesday some children travelled to Towcestrians Rugby Club to take part in a Year 3/4 Tag Rugby event. This was the largest event of its kind in School Games history, with a record 26 schools entering a team!

In the group stages, we won 2 and lost 1 despite scoring numerous tries. In the quarter final game we won comfortably. Finally, in the semi final game, which determined our final position on the leaderboard, we were drawing 4-4 with a local school. A last minute try from the opposition placed us 8th out of the 26 teams. We were a whisker away from 7th!

The whole team played brilliantly and did themselves and each other proud. I saw some superb leadership skills on the pitch in each game, and all of the players improved throughout the afternoon. The tries we were conceding each game dropped as our defensive line became more well disciplined.
