VW Inspire Day

What a fantastic day we have had here at school! We were delighted to welcome Mr Warren and his team INSPIRE workshop from Volkswagen Group UK, who led an incredible, interactive day all about the engineering and future of vehicles.

Our pupils delved into how cars are made, mapping out where raw materials like steel, aluminium, and lithium travel from globally to build modern transport. There was a brilliant buzz of excitement as the children explored the world of electric vehicles, learning to spot the differences between traditional engines and battery-powered cars—discovering everything from hidden exhaust pipes to special green registration plates.

The absolute highlight of the day was putting our own creative minds to the test. Working in groups, some of the children became eco-inventors, designing their very own sustainable vehicles of the future powered entirely by green energy. The children also visited an exclusive on-site car show, acting as exemplary school ambassadors as they inspected real-world examples of modern engineering whilst having a whole heap of fun along the way!
