Compton Verney Art Trip

A Day of Creativity at Compton Verney
We enjoyed a truly fabulous day at Compton Verney, made better by the glorious sunshine!
Our morning was dedicated to the work of printmaker Enid Marx. Inspired by her unique collection of objects, the children channeled their inner artists to create their own vibrant prints. After a delightful lunch spent soaking up the atmosphere in the stunning grounds, we transitioned into an afternoon of storytelling through art.
We explored the intricate, stitched collages of Elizabeth Allen (also known as “Queen”), whose fascinating life story—including a diet famously consisting only of tea and biscuits—captivated the group. Using her work as a springboard, the children reflected on their own personal experiences to produce some truly remarkable collage pieces.
