South of England Finals for Hawksmoor Athletics

Our County Champion Sportshall Athletics team embarked on the next stage of their sporting journey as they took part in the very first South of England Finals, hosted in Luton.

We were up against 10 of the finest athletics teams around from Berkshire, Bedfordshire, Essex, Surrey and London.

This was certainly a step up in competition from the previous round for the team, and after a slow start, they got into gear winning 4 track events in a row!

Ultimately, the larger city schools were too strong for us, but we finished a very creditable 5th place overall – that is fifth in the South of England!

We are all so incredibly proud of their efforts today, and in all the additional training they have undertaken over the year.

A huge credit must go to Mrs Thomas for nurturing the talent within our team and motivating them to achieve so highly.
