Challenge 24 – Challenge Completed!

Today’s assembly was an opportunity to celebrate all the wonderful entrepreneurs who participated in ‘Challenge 24’ over the Easter holidays.

We have been amazed at the commitment and creativity in terms of the fundraising ideas. From walking, cycling, running and swimming to litter picking, crafting and baking, to sponsored silences, screen-free time and even a cheeky Bluey 24 episode marathon to raise funds – very ingenious!

We looked at lots of photos of the children hard at their fundraising activities and discussed some of the detail and events that took place. It was so lovely to see so many children involved, particularly in outdoor and community activities.

Of course there were competitions and rewards at the end of the process, and every child who raised money receives a certificate detailing their efforts, and will also be part of a Gallones ‘ice cream-fuelled’ additional play next Friday afternoon funded by FoNHS to say thank you for the efforts. Furthermore, we ran this as a house competition based on the total raised, with Lotus winning by a nose from Williams, followed by McLaren and then Caterham.

And finally, we wanted to celebrate the year group with the most participants, and this goes to Reception with 25 children involved in some sort of fundraising activity. This means that the whole of Reception will receive an additional playtime soon along with an ice lolly treat as a way of saying thank you as well.

As a first attempt at something like this, I think the children and families of NHPS have done themselves and the school proud. A huge thank you from us all and from FONHS for all the efforts involved in making this such a success!
