Y5 Islam Assembly

Our Year 5 pupils led our assembly this afternoon, sharing their understanding of Islam with pupils and parents. It was wonderful to see and hear the effort that they had put in to this as they all delivered their lines with poise and composure, despite having a technical failure of microphone failure at the last moment!

The children gave a comprehensive overview of this major world religion from its origins in the 7th century AD, through to how Muslims today follow the five pillars of faith: Shahadah, Salah, Zakat, Sawm and Hajj. Their knowledge around these was very impressive, showing how much they had learned throughout the topic thanks to the teaching team, supported by Mrs Arif who provided some additional resources including items of traditional clothing, along with sharing some of her deeper understanding with them last term.

Overall we were incredibly proud of every one of them and we are certainly looking forward to the next parent assembly from our pupils in the near future.
