Tag Rugby Talents

We had a fantastic afternoon of tag rugby today at Sponne. 47 NHPS pupils made the short walk up and participated in a skills festival for Y3/4 and a mini tournament for Y5/6.

Lots of competitive action ensued, and throughout the children were a credit to the school, giving it their all whether they were experienced rugby players or trying it for the first time.

The competitions were really close, with our teams finishing 3rd and 2nd in their respective tournaments, with our ‘A’ squad only losing the final by one try in the end. It was a fantastic event.

Overall, we may have unearthed a few new rugby players thanks to a great introduction to the sport by the Sponne young leaders led by Mrs Black.

A big thank you to all involved, but mostly the children from all the schools, for making it such a great event held in a really positive spirit!
