Summer Reading Spectacular!

We are thrilled to announce that Nicholas Hawksmoor are once again the local champions following this year’s Summer Reading Challenge – fourth year running!

Mrs Gurney from the library came in to share the fantastic news with the children this morning in assembly. She awarded us with our certificate and a fantastic shiny and very large trophy! We all took a moment to have a big cheer as a result.

More importantly though, we are so proud of the dedication and commitment our children have shown to reading over the years, and it is pleasing to see that this continues.

The time spent with your children reading whether at bedtimes or any time (even the oldest ones appreciate it too) is so precious and we cannot emphasise enough that despite what the children might say, reading aloud with them is so, so important. This is particularly evident in the age of technology where it is so much easier to grab a device and watch something on a screen.

Thank you all for your support with this, and long may this success continue as we give our children the very best starts in life!
