Protected Characteristics

 

Today is assembly, Ms Curtis reminded all of Key Stage 2 about the importance of equality and fairness in our interactions with one another.

The children really impressed with their knowledge of most of the protected characteristics that were introduced througfh the Equality Act back in 2010. As it always seems to be with these types of assemblies, their understanding and reasoning really stood out, reminding us as adults as to the ability of societies youngest to identify fairness and unfairness so astutely!

We were shown how important it is for us all to ensure we are curious and not judgemental when faced with the unknown and the different. And that if we are in any doubt, one kind word is all it takes to break down barriers…
