Water Safety

Today’s assembly was all about water safety.

Water Safety Week, also known as Drowning Prevention Week, is a campaign organised by the Royal Life Saving Society UK, which takes place every year in June in the UK and Ireland.

The week aims to increase awareness of water safety ahead of the summer, when people will be spending more time outdoors and around water, such as at the beach.

We looked closely at the Water Safety Code:

Stop and Think – Look for dangers and always read the signs.
Stay Together – Never swim alone – always go with friends and family.
Call 999 or 112 and shout for help.
Float – If you fall in, float or swim on your back. Throw something that floats to anyone else who has fallen in.
